Wearable Red Light Therapy FAQs
What is a wearable red light therapy device?
A wearable red light therapy device is a flexible LED device that straps, wraps or sits directly against a specific area of the body, delivering red and near-infrared light in a hands-free format. InfraHeal's wearable range includes the Flexi Wrap, Flexi Pad, Knee & Shoulder Wrap and LED Face Mask.
What is the difference between the Flexi Wrap and the Flexi Pad?
Both use the same wavelengths (660nm, 850nm and 940nm) and 120 LEDs. The difference is their shape. The Flexi Wrap (40 × 17 cm) is long and narrow, designed to wrap around shoulders, arms, legs and the back. The Flexi Pad (40 × 22 cm) is wider and more rectangular, giving it a larger surface for broader areas such as the back and stomach.
Which wearable red light device is best for larger areas like the back or stomach?
The Flexi Pad is designed for broader areas. Its wider, rectangular shape covers more surface than the Flexi Wrap, and the included adjustable strap wraps around the body to hold it securely in place on areas such as the back, stomach or hips.
You can also use the Flexi Pad without the strap by laying it flat, like a small red light therapy mat. Rest your back, legs or feet on it while sitting or lying down. If you have pets, the Flexi Pad is also suitable for them: simply lay it flat for small dogs or cats to rest on. Always follow the instructions supplied with your device.
Are InfraHeal wearable red light devices cordless?
Yes. The Flexi Wrap, Flexi Pad and Knee & Shoulder Wrap are cordless and rechargeable, with up to 3–4 hours of use per charge. The LED Face Mask uses a USB rechargeable controller.
What wavelengths do InfraHeal wearables use?
The Flexi Wrap, Flexi Pad and Knee & Shoulder Wrap use red light at 660nm and near-infrared light at 850nm and 940nm. The LED Face Mask uses red (630nm) and near-infrared (850nm) light, plus blue (460nm) and yellow (590nm) light.
What is the difference between red light and near-infrared light?
They refer to different wavelength ranges. Red light uses shorter visible wavelengths, while near-infrared wavelengths are longer and less readily visible to the eye.
Should I choose a wearable device or a red light therapy mat?
It depends on the area you want to cover. Wearable devices are designed for targeted areas such as the shoulders, knees, back or face, and can be used while sitting or moving around the home. A red light therapy mat is designed for full-body coverage while lying down.
Can I use a wearable red light device away from home?
The cordless Flexi Wrap, Flexi Pad and Knee & Shoulder Wrap do not need to be plugged in during use, making them easy to take with you. Always follow the instructions supplied with your device.
What warranty do InfraHeal wearables come with?
The Flexi Wrap, Flexi Pad and LED Face Mask come with a 2-year product replacement warranty. The Knee & Shoulder Wrap comes with a 1-year product replacement warranty.
